[edit] DS Lite

  • Adjustable LCD brightness (4 levels)
  • Speakers are centered with top screen
  • Microphone relocated from bottom panel to the top panel, centered between hinges
  • LEDs moved from bottom to top right hinge
  • Start/Select button moved from top of panel to bottom of panel, closer to screen. Now arranged vertically.
  • Power switch moved from above D-Pad to right side (above the stylus storage). It is a slider instead of a button, and it functions similar to the switch on PSP, where you push the slider for 1-2 seconds to activate it and it then springs back into place.
  • Volume slider is larger. Volume and headphone jack unmoved.
  • GBA cart extends past the bottom of the DS by 1cm. A cap is included so you aren't forced to keep a GBA cart in the system.
  • Stylus slides out from bottom right, instead of the top.
  • Stylus is also larger (1mm larger in diameter, 1cm longer.)
  • Wrist strap now comes in white as well.
  • Power adaptor is proprietary (not compatible with any other Nintendo handheld.)
  • Firmware is different and contains a mechanism for changing the screen brightness level.
