  • *1: DS-X achieves libfat compatibility by patching the homebrew at runtime. This is not as stable/compatible, as if support were directly included in libfat
  • *3: M3 Simply is an exact clone of the R4. You can change one into the other with a single dab of solder on the PCB
  • *4: There is a bug in EZ-5 firmware, requires you to hexedit homebrew roms to get them to work.
  • *5: DLDI support still experimental, some people having trouble with writing support
  • *6: There seems to be 2 versions of SCSD:Lite. One works 100% with DLDI, the other is buggy / flakey. Hopefully this will be sorted soon (people are working on it)

[edit] Explanation of columns

  • Name: Name of the device
  • Company: Manufacturer of device
  • Slot: Does it go in the GBA slot or DS slot?
  • Storage: Internal storage or what kind of media does it take
  • Linker: Does it need a USB or LPT linker
  • libfat: Read/Write with chishm's libfat
  • GBAROM: Can run homebrew from GBAROM space (enables appended GBFS for example)
  • GBARAM: Possible to write to GBAROM space as RAM (16bit writes only)
  • SRAM: Contains SRAM or SRAM emulation
  • runs DS homebrew: Can launch homebrew .nds or .ds.gba files
  • runs GBA homebrew: Can launch homebrew .gba files
  • Builtin NoPass: Functions as a NoPass device, no extra device needed to use.
  • Protrusion: How much it sticks out on a phat / lite
  • MSRP: Average selling price in North America
